Take Action to Save The Marsh, Clean Up in Da' Spillway
Volunteers Needed to Help Restore Wetlands and Clean Up the Marsh in the Bonnet Carre Spillway and Wetland Watchers Park
Who: LSU AgCenter, America’s Wetland Conservations Corps., St. Charles 4-H, Destrehan High School WISE Club, Harry Hurst Middle Wetland Watcher, and DHS Senior Brandy White.
What: A restorative clean up and marsh planting in the Bonnet Carre Spillway and Wetland Watchers Park. We will help return the precious land to the famous and historic Louisiana Preserve it is. Also volunteer time to help improve and enhance our recreation are and Wetland Watchers Park. Destrehan High School Senior Brandy White will lead and also work with volunteers to plant trees to help restore a part of completion of her senior project.
When: Saturday, November 21, 2009
Where: Bonnet Carre Spillway and Wetland Watchers Park (See Directions Below)
Time: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm
Bonnet Carre Spillway offers a taste of Louisiana’s wild wetlands and includes a few acres of marshes, forests, alligators, nutrias, and tons of species of birds.
Lunch, snacks, and water will be provided for all volunteers.
The weather may be cool so please bring clothes that keep you warm and that can get dirty!
