Public Range Days
The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office will allow the general public to use the St. Charles Firing
Range to shoot handguns only. Anyone wishing to use the range will be required to
attend a safety briefing, which will be held at the range starting at 8 am and 12 noon on
the below range days. The safety briefing will last approximately 30 minutes. The dates
are listed below.
The Range hours will be 8 am-11am and 12noon-4 pm. All participants are required to
bring their own:
- targets
- safety glasses
- hearing protection
- a baseball type cap and
- staple gun and staples
All participants must have proper identification to present to the firearms instructors.
All weapons will be transported to the range in a suitable transportation device (gun box
or a holster, etc.). No weapons will be brought to the range in a loaded condition and
must be left in the vehicle until the safety briefing, and all required paperwork has been
completed.
All shooters must wear a holster to secure their weapon while on the firing line or walking
about the range.
No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to fire any weapons on the range.
