Beloved Sesame Street character Elmo will make an appearance at the St.
Charles Parish Library Planetarium, located at the West Regional Library on
Hwy. 90 in Luling, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 19 to celebrate the
local premiere of his new show, "One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure."
The planetarium will host a free premiere party for the show that morning
beginning at 9:30 a.m. Elmo's assistant is set to create and hand out
balloon animals.
Children and families in attendance will have the opportunity to view the
show during one of its multiple showings in the St. Charles Parish
Planetarium. There will also be various activities, including story times,
crafts, games and face painting for families to enjoy.
"One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure" has premiered in planetariums
from Chicago to Beijing, China. In the show, Big Bird and Elmo learn about
the stars, star patterns and the Big Dipper. They even take an imaginary
trip to the moon.
After the premiere, the show will continue to run every Saturday at 10 a.m.
as a part of the planetarium's free "Children's Matinee."
