The Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office is conducting Louisiana’s annual Voter Registration Week May 14 through May 18 throughout the state. Secretary of State Tom Schedler is encouraging all Louisiana residents 17 years old or older who are not registered to vote to visit www.GeauxVote.com or to contact their local registrars of voters.
The St. Charles Parish Registrar of Voters Office will be conducting voter registration drives at the following locations during Voter Education Week:
9 a.m. - 1 p.m. May 15
St. Rose Post Office, 17724 River Road, St. Rose
9 a.m. - 1 p.m. May 17
Winn Dixie, 12519 Hwy. 61, Destrehan
9 a.m. - 1 p.m. May 18
Walmart, 13001 Hwy. 90, Boutte
The office would like to inform the public of voting options for seniors. Besides voting in person on election day or early voting at the Registrar of Voters Office, those who are 65 years of age and older or mobility impaired may receive their election ballot by mail. You may still vote in person, just do not return your ballot by mail. Additional “Mail Ballot Request Forms” are on the St Charles Parish website at www.stcharlesparish-la.gov/registrar.
In addition to the week’s activities, citizens can always register to vote online at www.GeauxVote.com or while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries.
Those interested in registering to vote or making changes to their voter registration should contact the St. Charles Parish Registrar of Voters Office at (985) 783-5120 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
