East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Dr., Destrehan. For more info, contact Lauren Pitz at lauren.pitz@myscpl.org or (985) 764-2366. Teens ages 12 to 17 are invited to attend the fifth annual St. Charles Parish Library Teen Lock-In! The “Choose Your Own Adventure” Lock-In will feature group games, crafts, Internet activities and movies based on the Harry Potter series, Minecraft, John Green novels, Jurassic Park, robots, superheroes and more. Costumes are encouraged.
“Our teen lock-ins have been such awesome experiences—for all of the teens who come and all of the library staff involved,” Amy Boling Duke, Teen Services Librarian, said. “We see a lot of the same teens coming year after year. It’s become a summer tradition for a lot of them.”
Permission slips and information packets are available at all St. Charles Parish Library locations and online at www.myscpl.org/teens. There are 75 spaces available for the lock-in, and no permission slips will be taken after the limit has been reached. If the limit is not reached, the last day to return signed permission slips will be 5 p.m. July 17.
All St. Charles Parish Library events are free of charge and open to the public. Registration in the Summer Reading Program is not necessary to attend events. More information, including a calendar of summer events, can be found at all library locations and at www.myscpl.org/summer.
