Residential Garbage Collection
About
Fully automated and semi-automated residential refuse collection. 96-gallon wheeled containers are used with the parish's garbage collection. Garbage and trash cart containers are serviced with the fully automated side loading service trucks and bagged residential trash on the ground is serviced with semi-automated rear loading trucks with two hoppers on the back. Cart containers should be placed curbside with handles facing the house, 3ft away from additional carts, cars and mailboxes. Bulky waste is serviced bi-weekly with boom truck service. The current vendor for the fully automated and semi-automated collection is River Birch Renewable Energy.
Twice-per-week garbage pickup is billed monthly via water bills.
Pickup Rules
All normal household wastes can be placed in the container. Residents are encouraged to cart containerize all garbage and trash.
Never place the following items in the container: hot ashes or coal, household hazardous waste or medical waste.
