St. Charles Parish has an intricate infrastructure network that supplies water, sewerage and drainage to homes and businesses. Nearly 200 Public Works employees are responsible for completing maintenance work daily across 14,161 catch basins, 349 miles of ditches and canals, 140 pumps of varying sizes, and 55 pump stations to ensure quality drainage, water and sewerage for all residents.
