The St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter, at 921 Deputy Jeff G. Watson Dr. in Luling, is now hosting birthday ‘paw-ty’ experiences on Sundays to educate youth and raise funds for an eventual dog park. $50 of each pawty scheduled will go towards the future park! Additional donations will also be accepted .

Paw-ty experiences will be available at the shelter from 3 to 5 p.m.

The standard paw-ty package is priced at $410 for a group of 12 attendees and includes the following educational activities led by the shelter staff: a tour of the facility, a presentation on animal rescue and the shelter’s goals, “Be a Vet” experience, dog and cat play, basic pet care, small animals and exotics. The package also includes birthday party décor, four tables with tablecloths, plates, utensils, napkins, and cups. Also included are bottled water, lemonade, and ice.

In addition to the standard package, the following add-ons are available:

• Additional child guest fee $20 each (not to exceed 20 children)
• Pet-themed party food served in pet bowls for $75 (scooby snacks, goldfish, kibbles-n-bits, meow mix, cheetos)
• Bottled water, lemonade, ice for guests $40
• Pawty favors include a decorated bag and goodies $36
• Large pizzas for $12 each
• Photographer that provides a disc of party pictures for $55

How to Book

Residents interested in booking the animal shelter should call (985) 783-5010 or fill out the “Animal Shelter Paw-ty” contract. Completed forms may be emailed to jtroxler@stcharlesgov.net. Checks must be made payable to the St. Charles Parish Finance Department.

$50 nonrefundable deposit due 1 month prior to expected pawty date, with balance due 1 week prior to pawty. Balance is non-refundable if cancelled.  Cash only is accepted and a receipt from the St. Charles Parish Department of Finance is provided.
