Schedule a personal appointment during adoption hours, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday - Friday to view and adopt.

Adoption Basics

The St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter adopts pets through a fee of $80 for dogs and $80 for cats (debit card, credit card or money order purchase), which includes the cost for age appropriate vaccines, rabies vaccination, deworming, spaying or neutering, flea and tick control and microchipping.

Potential adopters will be required to complete a St. Charles Parish Pet Adoption Application. Adopters will also be required to present a driver's license as a form of identification.

The completed forms will be thoroughly reviewed by the shelter staff before approval. After approval, the new owner will be given the health record of the animal, rabies tag, microchip tag, a copy of the adoption certificate, information from the veterinarian regarding care of the pet and a prescription for heartworm, flea or tick prevention (if applicable).
