German Coast Farmers' Market

Judy Walker, local author and NOLA.com / Times Picayune food editor, will be signing copies of the new edition of "Cooking Up a Storm: Recipes Lost and found from the Times-Picayune of New Orleans," released in hardback for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, at the Saturday, Nov. 14 German Coast Farmers Market in Destrehan. Located on the grounds of Ormond Plantation, the event will take place between 9:30 and 11:30 am. This is a great opportunity to pick up a unique gift for the upcoming holidays. Signed copies are $30, payable by cash or check.

Richard Kiral, Ormond Plantation's executive chef, who was recently featured on the nationally syndicated show, "Flip My Food with Chef Jeff", will be preparing a recipe from Walker's book during a live cooking demo at 10:30 am.

The Market will feature a full line up of vendors, live music by Blanch Newsome, fresh fall produce, craft vendors, a St. Charles Parish Library display/used book sale, and an LSU AgCenter Master Gardener's advice station.
