The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office will give Hunter
Education Classes on the dates listed below. State Law requires that
all individuals born on or after Sept. 1, 1969, to obtain a hunting
license prior to hunting in Louisiana. Individuals must be ten years of
age or older to be certified. The course will cover such topics as
firearm safety, survival, first aid, and wildlife identification.
The classes will be limited to 30 students and each student must preregister and attend each day. The
classes will be held at the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's firing range.
The times for the two-day classes will be Fridays, 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be two field days
for individuals that have taken the course on line with the Department
of Wildlife and Fisheries. The time for the field days are 8 a.m. to 4
p.m. and will be held on Saturdays.
