Martin Luther King Jr. Pilgrimage March and Program
Students, parents and the community at large are invited to celebrate
the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Pilgrimage
March and Program, 10 a.m. Jan. 18 beginning at the West Bank Bridge
Park in Luling and continuing to the E.J. Landry Alternative School
Gym, 108 Tiger Circle in Hahnville.
The commemorative program at
the gym will feature guest speaker Ashley M. Bridges, a 2001 MLK
scholarship recipient and sixth grade math teacher in Greensboro, Ga. The program will begin at noon.
The
march and program is sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr.
commemorative organization of St. Charles Parish. For more information
