Local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be working Feb. 20 and 27 to collect food for those in need throughout the St. Charles Parish area.
The Scouts will drop off empty grocery bags from Rouse’s Grocery Stores on Feb. 20 and return to pick up the bags filled with non-perishable items the morning of Feb. 27. Please be sure to have bags on your front porch by 8 a.m. Feb. 27 to ensure pickup.
The food drive is part of the Southeast Louisiana Council’s Scouting for Food project, during which Scouts throughout the area will collect canned and non-perishable food items by the end of February. All items collected will be given to the St. Charles Social Concerns in Luling.
During the food drive the Scouts will be working toward their goal of “serving other people at all times by providing a needed service in the communities that are impacted by scouting”.
