St. Charles Parish Assessor Tab Troxler will host an Informational Session on Reassessment beginning at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the West Regional St. Charles Parish Library, 105 Lakewood Drive in Luling.
The public is invited for an update on this year's state-mandated residential reassessment. Beginning in August, residents are set to receive mailed notices containing updated fair market values for their properties. This is the fourth public meeting aimed at providing educational information about reassessment so far in 2024.
Attendees will also learn how to resolve issues with their home's reassessment value. The “open book” period for reassessment review begins Aug. 15 and ends Aug. 29, during which residents are encouraged to review their assessments.
Additionally, residents will be able to apply in person at this event for the following:
- Homestead Exemption (Driver’s License or Birth Certificate required)
- Age 65 Freeze (Driver’s License or Birth Certificate and Federal Tax Return required)
- Disabled Veterans Additional Homestead Exemption (Driver’s License or Birth Certificate and Disability Awards Letter required)
