The Corps will hold a public meeting to discuss the recently released report entitled "Comprehensive Environmental Document (CED) Greater New Orleans Area Hurricane Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRRS)" for a 60-day public review and comment period.

The CED describes the five-parish HSDRSS with a cumulative impact analysis; identifies remaining data gaps, conceptually explains the status of the proposed mitigation plan, and informs on the development of long term operations and maintenance. The Corps is preparing the CED concurrently with the ongoing construction of the HSDRRS. The CED addresses work through 2010 and will be supplemented at a later date once construction of the HSDRRS is complete.

The CED is currently available for review and comment at www.nolaenvironmental.gov. The deadline to submit comments is on April 8, 2013. All comments postmarked on or before the expiration of the comment period will be considered.

Comments received during the public review period will become part of the official record.
