SHERIFF REPORTS ON HOME BURGLARY ON WILLOWDALE BOULEVARD

Post Date:April 18, 2012

A MESSAGE FROM SHERIFF GREG CHAMPAGNE: On April 17 around noon, perpetrators whom we are quite certain are responsible for the previous three burglaries we reported recently, forcibly entered a home in the 600 block of Willowdale Boulevard.

Shortly thereafter, the homeowner returned, and the burglars fled in a light gray (almost white) Toyota car with Missouri license plates on the front and rear. A white female about 5 feet 2 inches with black hair in her mid-twenties was acting as a lookout in the suspect car. The burglar, a white male, ran from behind the home, and the pair was able to flee the scene heading north towards Highway 90.

Items they were attempting to steal were dropped near the back door.

A neighbor also reported seeing a gray pickup truck with unknown license plate information in the area, possibly working with the suspects. Ironically, detectives in an unmarked vehicle had passed in the area 10 minutes prior.

We suspect the perpetrators are operating from a location in Jefferson Parish.

Anyone with any information concerning this incident is asked to reply to this message or contact our detective unit at (985) 783-1135 or by calling 911. We are especially interested in anyone who may have video surveillance in the Willowdale / Willowridge area.

We are asking for vigilance and to not confine suspicion to the vehicles described. The perpetrators may be working as a ring.

All available manpower is being dedicated toward the effort to identify and apprehend these individuals.
